A sheep and her three babies have been killed in fields on the edge of Aylesbury.

It happened in the fields near Buckingham Park and Berryfields over the weekend.

A warning: You may find some of the details upsetting

Over the weekend, in what's being described as a 'deliberate attack' by a human or humans, the sheep was cut and left to die.

Her her three unborn babies were still attached to her.

The attacker or attackers then turned to another ewe.

They ripped her ID tags off and she managed to escape across or through three fences, to then get stuck in the River Thame.

A member of the public then found her.

She is now being cared for and will hopefully survive.

The Bucks Conservation Trust, who look after the land, say this 'dastardly' attack has been reported to police.

They said:

"The photographs are too horrendous to post and is devastating for the farmer to deal with.

"You can only imagine the sheer terror this sheep went through.

"Visitors are asked to be vigilant and if you see anyone behaving suspiciously on the site please report it to the Police."
