A serving Thames Valley Police officer has been suspended due to charges of child sex offences.

24-year-old PC Luke Christopher Horner, based at Amersham Police Station, has been charged with one count of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a child aged 13-15 and one of making an indecent image of a child in connection with an incident while off duty.

It's after an investigation by Northamptonshire Police.

A separate misconduct investigation is being launched and the officer was suspended from duty yesterday (15 June).

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police says the Independent Office for Police Conduct has been informed.

Horner is due to appear in Northampton Magistrates' Court today (16 June).
