A Metropolitan Police officer, from Hemel Hempstead, has been charged with further serious sexual offences amid an ongoing investigation by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit (MCU).

Jake Cummings, 23, is now facing one count of rape, two counts of stalking, two counts of controlling and coercive behavior, and three counts of voyeurism.

These additional charges stem from incidents reported to have occurred between July 2019 and December 2023 in Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Dorset, involving three female victims.

Cummings was initially suspended from duty following an original charge of raping a woman and remains in remand. He is scheduled to appear via video link at St Albans Magistrates Court on Thursday, June 6.

Residents of Hertfordshire who have experienced sexual abuse or violence are encouraged to reach out to the Herts Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) for practical and emotional support.

The centre provides face-to-face assistance, sexual health referrals, and forensic medical examinations, available to all individuals regardless of when the abuse occurred.
