Thames Valley Police have enacted a Section 60 following a disorder in Chesham on Monday night.

It follows a group of people, who officers believe are known to each other, were involved in a disorder in the Cresswell Road area on Monday.

A man who was injured was taken to hospital and is in a stable condition with not life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested a 28-year-old man from Chesham on suspicion of assault.

He remains in custody.

The Section 60, which gives officers enhanced stop and search powers, has been put in place "to prevent further possible violence".

It's in place until 5:30pm today (February 7).

Inspector Jason Liles said: “We have put this order in place to stop further violence following an incident of disorder.

“The order will be reviewed tomorrow and may be extended for another 24 hours, if required.

“Members of the public will see an increase police presence. Anyone with concerns should please speak to one of our officers.

“An investigation is also ongoing with regards to this disorder and anyone with information should contact Thames Valley Police on 101 quoting reference 43240057310.”
