A flood alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for the River Great Ouse in Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, and Buckinghamshire, with flooding possible today (27th January 2026).

The alert covers areas along the River Great Ouse from Brackley to Thornborough, including Padbury Brook. High river levels this morning may lead to flooding in these locations, particularly areas immediately adjacent to the river.

The Environment Agency has stated they are not currently expecting the situation to intensify, and no further warning messages are anticipated at this time.

Residents in affected areas are advised to stay informed, monitor conditions closely, and take precautions where necessary to protect themselves and their property.

This comes as part of ongoing monitoring efforts by the Environment Agency to ensure communities along vulnerable waterways remain alert to potential risks.
