Risborough man honoured by the Queen
Malcolm Cloutt received a letter from Her Majesty
A World War 2 Veteran from Princes Risborough has been thanked by the Queen.
Malcolm Cloutt recently turned 100 and has been thanked for his work in the community.
Malcolm told us what he means to him to be personally thanked for the work he does enriching the lives of others:
"Well, I'm humbled really because I don't feel that I have done anything that hundreds of other people don't do."
He has been helping children with their reading at a local school, as well as handing out bibles to those in the community.
He told us he prays for those which have received a bible each day, but the list is so long it's split over 30 days.
In November, Malcolm took on a challenge to mark Armistice.
He walked 11 miles in 11 days at 11am.
Malcolm raised around £13,000 from that.
He told us:
"I shall continue with my personal witnessing, once I can get out amongst people again."
As part of the letter, Malcolm received a Maundy Money coin.
Usually, this would have been presented at a special church service, but due to the pandemic this couldn't go ahead.
