Police investigate barn fire in Princes Risborough

The RSPCA were called in to help injured birds

Police are investigating a suspected arson at a barn in Princes Risborough, on Sunday evening (23rd January).

Between 5.30pm and 6.30pm, bales of hay were set alight at the site in Horsenden.

Officers are asking people with cameras covering Station Road, Princes Risborough to call 101.

Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue say they were called at 6.04pm, and had five crews on site at the height of the blaze.

The barn was being used to store around 400 tonnes of hay.

In a statement, Bucks Fire added: 'The RSPCA attended the incident to care for a number of doves that were found in the barn.

'Firefighters monitored the barn through the night and throughout Monday, checking for hot spots, and damping down.'
