Man arrested after £30k of stolen tools found in Welwyn Garden City

It's after officers received intelligences about stolen property being stored in the Whitethorn area

Police have recovered approximately £30,000 worth of suspected stolen tools in Welwyn Garden City.

On Thursday (15/12), Operation Scorpion* received intelligence about stolen property being stored in the Whitethorn area.

The team attended the scene and found tools thought to be worth around £30,0000.

A 45 year old man from Welwyn Garden City was arrested on suspicion of burglary and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

PC Martin Field said: “We’re constantly looking out for any information or intelligence in relation to acquisitive crime. We endeavour to bring those responsible to justice and explore avenues available to locate and recover stolen property.

“We know some residents were concerned about seeing police in the area so hopefully this information provides reassurance as to why we were there.”
