Police officer assaulted in Aylesbury

He had to have hospital treatment after an incident on Monday (24/8).

A police officer in Aylesbury has been assaulted and now a man has been charged with attempted GBH and dangerous driving.

Officers were trying to stop a vehicle in Hampden Gardens on Monday, when one got his foot stuck between the vehicle and a police car.

The 25-year-old from Birmingham's being held until a court date next month.

What happened in Hampden Gardens?

At around 2.30pm on Monday (24/8), officers attempted to stop a vehicle.

The vehicle did not stop and an officer’s foot was caught between the vehicle and a police car.

The officer received hospital treatment but has since been discharged.

25-year-old Sulaimaan Khan, of Somerville Road, Birmingham was charged with one count each of driving a motor vehicle dangerously and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

Khan has been remanded in custody to appear at Aylesbury Crown Court on 29 September.
