Hertfordshire Police have asked the public for information following two reports of indecent exposure in Stevenage.

The reports were made following two incidents on January 6th around the Stevenage area between 5:30pm and 7pm.

Both victims were walking alone when a man in his 20s pulled up next to them in a grey car asking for directions.

Once he had spoken to the victims, he then exposed himself and began to touch himself inappropriately.

In both reports the man was described as being between 20 and 30, having shoulder-length curly hair and was clean shaven.

The car in which the man was driving was also described as being as a small model, potentially a Ford Fiesta or Peugeot 106.

Police are asking anyone who was near Sparrow Drive or Ascot Crescent between 5:30pm and 7pm to come forward with any information.

Speaking about the case, Detective Constable Simon Hancock from Hertfordshire Police said they are investigating the connection between the two incidents.

“Initial enquiries have led us to believe that these incidents may be linked. I would like to speak to anyone who was in either of the areas around the times specified, who believes they may have seen the vehicle or witnessed a man matching the description behaving suspiciously in the vicinity," he said.

“We understand that incidents of this nature will cause concern among the local community, and I would like to reassure people that we are taking these reports very seriously and doing all we can to investigate."
