Hertfordshire Police are still looking for witnesses and appealing for information after an incident over the weekend involving two people and a gas canister.
They're particularly after dashcam footage after a canister was reportedly thrown from a bridge over the A1(M) on Saturday (December 10).
Police say it happened at about 19:30 - when two people were seen on the footbridge between junction 10 and 9 near Baldock.
They were then reported to have thrown the 30cm-long canister off the footbridge which leads to Coachman's Lane in Baldock.
That then struck a lorry in the southbound carriageway - hitting the driver in the face through the windscreen.
The male driver was injured, but not seriously.
Following the incident, the driver brought his lorry to a stop in a safe location and got in touch with police.
Detective Sergeant Michael Ball, from the North Herts Local Crime Unit, said: “This was an incredibly reckless act which could have resulted in serious injury or even worse to innocent motorists.
“Throwing any items from a height onto a moving carriageway is extremely dangerous.
“I’m appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident or who was driving near the bridge at the time and may have captured dash cam footage to get in touch."
