Police confirm death of man found in Bedford not being treated as suspicious

Officers said a man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene in Mile Road

Police have confirmed the death of a man found in Bedford earlier this week is not being treated as suspicious.

The discovery in Mile Road on Monday morning (8 November) left nearby Bedford Academy closed for the day while officers investigated.

The school reopened as normal yesterday.

Officers said a man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and specialist officers are working to support them.

A file will be prepared and passed to the coroner.
