Plea to report suspicious behaviour to police, not just on Facebook

A number of incidents were posted about in parts of Aylesbury

There has been a lot of suspicious behaviour in parts of Aylesbury in recent nights - but it's important people report that to police.

Areas including Fairford Leys, Elmhurst and Haydon Hill have seen thefts from cars and then posts have appeared on community Facebook pages.

Superintendent Mike Loebenberg says that doesn't necessarily help officers:

"It's really important that people do report crimes to us, because it gives us the best possible information about where crimes are occurring.

"Of course it gives us an opportunity to find offenders and really target patrols in the most efficient way to stand the best chance of preventing future crimes."

Suspicious incidents have been reported in recent nights and people have been asked to keep their eyes peeled for possible offenders.

Mike told us officers need the public's help:

"Doorbell cameras are increasingly common.

"They are a fantastic tool for ensuring that evidence is captured.

"We have a tool called the Digital Evidence Management System, which allows people to both register their doorbells and other other devices and then if they have footage of a crime they can upload directly to that tool."

This comes as we're reminded to keep valuables and gifts hidden, in both cars and our homes, to avoid any burglaries or thefts.
