Buckinghamshire man's piano session raises over £1,200
Vic from Princes Risborough held a 4 hours piano fundraiser
A Buckinghamshire man has raised over £1,000 for charity through his piano playing.
ShelterBox are a disaster relief charity who support people going through experiences like war or flooding.
A long time fan and advocate of the disaster relief charity's work, who he knew from his days in The Rotary Club, Vic was keen to support their latest appeal, encouraging people to fundraise to mark their 21st birthday.
Vic spoke to his church, the Princes Risborough Methodist Church, and organised a charity piano session:
"I performed for 4 hours and 20 minutes and thanks to the generosity of people from the church and friends and family we've arrived at this figure of £1285.
"I think it is such a worthwhile and practical charity where you can see what it does and how it helps.
"There are people in so many countries with so little. Things get wiped out by hurricaines, floods and even war.
"They have absolutely nothing and its the least we can do."
Holly from ShelterBox says its been amazing to see the fundraising from Vic:
"We ran a fundraiser asking people to take part in our 'Tent for Lent' campaign where we ask people to raise enough to cover the cost of a family sized tent.
"The cost of this is £385 and Vic went well over that and raised over £1200 which is enough for 3 tents.
"I think everyone is capable of fundraising and we love to see the creative efforts of fundraisers like Vic who are using their unique skills to fundraise rather than doing what we might expect."
Vic isn't quite sure it should be called a skill:
"I play the piano badly, and if people can recognise the tune then I have done quite well."
