Thames Valley Police are asking for help after a police officer was seriously hurt in a crash in Stoke Poges last night.

The crash happened on the B416 Bells Hill, between Decies Way and Rogers Lane, at about 10.20pm on Thursday 22 May.

A 38-year-old man from Slough was arrested and is now in custody. He is suspected of attempted murder and dangerous driving causing serious injury.

The police are still looking into what happened.

Deputy Chief Constable Ben Snuggs said: “If anyone knows anything about this, please tell the police straight away. Our thoughts are with the police officer, their family and workmates at this hard time.”

The road is still closed both ways between Decies Way and Rogers Lane. This has stopped people getting to the nearby Banana Moon Day Nursery, which is still closed right now.

Thames Valley Police and Crime commissioner Matthew Barber said: “An on-duty police officer was involved in a collision last night, leaving him in hospital with life threatening injuries."

"My thoughts are with the officer, his family and his colleagues who will also be deeply affected.

"It is another stark reminder of the dangers that our police and emergency service colleagues face on a daily basis. TVP is supporting the officer’s family at this difficult time."
