There has been a significant decrease in the amount of offences committed by young people in Buckinghamshire.

Numbers show that there has been a 28% drop in offences between 2018-19 and 2019-20.

582 offences were committed between 2018-19, compared with 418 in 2019-20.

The number of young people who are offending in the county has also dropped from 168 to 162.

The significant decrease, however, in the number of offences being committed is being put down to the strength of adopting a trauma informed approach to dealing with young-offenders.

The Buckinghamshire Youth Justice Strategic Plan for 2020-21 is being discussed by Buckinghamshire Council this afternoon.
