The NHS across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West (BOB) has reached a major milestone, delivering more than six million Covid-19 vaccinations since the start of the programme back in 2020.

Health leaders are thanking NHS staff, volunteers and partner organisations whose hard work has made this achievement possible – and encouraging eligible people to continue coming forward for protection this winter.

Look before you book

Eligibility for the Covid-19 vaccine has changed this winter, so it is important that people check before making an appointment. Those eligible are:

• Aged 75 or over (including those who will be 75 by 31 January 2026)

• Aged 6 months to 74 years with a weakened immune system due to a health condition or treatment

• People who live in a care home for older adults

People in these groups can book their Covid-19 vaccination through the NHS App, the National Booking System or by calling 119.

Sarah Bellars, Chief Nursing Officer at the NHS BOB Integrated Care Board which commissions health services in our area, said,: “Delivering more than six million Covid-19 vaccinations is a fantastic achievement and reflects the dedication of NHS teams and partners right across our area. We are proud of the protection this programme has given to people at greatest risk.

“Covid-19 can still cause serious illness, especially for older people and those with weakened immune systems. We are asking people to look before you book your vaccine and help to protect yourself, your loved ones and the NHS this winter.”
