42 new homes could be built on the site which used to be home to Aylesbury United.

The club moved out of Buckingham Road 14 years ago.

Now there are plans for new homes and a park along the River Thame, similar to that by Buckingham Park.

Empty for 14 years

The site has become dangerous after years of neglect

The Ducks left the site in 2006, with plans for new homes in 2009 eventually withdrawn.

Then it sat empty, with buildings becoming derelict and issues around anti-social behaviour.

In 2017, permission was sought to start demolishing the stadium.

Now we have this proposal for new homes and green space.

New green space

The proposals for new green space show a park area alongside the River Thame, with pathways, a sports area and a playground.

Developers say this would be similar to the area created in front of Buckingham Park and mean there is greater access to the river.

Protected species and habitats will be looked after and the aspiration is that this development will fit in with the Aylesbury Garden Town vision of greener building projects.
