Murder investigation launched after man stabbed to death in Hatfield

Police were called to reports of a fight yesterday afternoon

A man in his 20s has died after a fight in Hatfield.

Hertfordshire Police have launched a murder investigation after the altercation near Parkhouse Court.

They were called at 1:11pm yesterday afternoon, finding the victim with stab injuries. He sadly died at the scene, and his next of kin are being supported.

Officer's have launched an appeal for information and witnesses as their investigation continues. Specialist teams remain at the scene, where a cordon is also still in place.

No one has been arrested yet.

Detective Chief Inspector Nick Gardner, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: “Our investigation is continuing at pace and I am urging anyone with information to please come forward.

“If you saw what happened, or have any information that may assist our enquiries, please contact police.

“I appreciate the nature of this incident is concerning. We have additional patrols in the area, and if you have any concerns please do speak to our officers. Our thoughts are with the man’s loved ones at this time.”
