A motorcycle rider in his 20s has died after a crash in Welwyn Garden City.

Hertfordshire Police were called to Long Ley at 10:10pm last night (March 28), where a rider had left the carriageway in and was seriously injured.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses, information and footage.

Sgt Tim Davies, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “My thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this time.

“I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch. Did you see what happened? Or did you see a blue Yamaha motorcycle or any other vehicles in or around Ley Walk at this time? Please get in touch if you can help by emailing me at timothy.davies@herts.police.uk

“I would also like to hear from anybody who captured what happened on dash cam. If you were driving in the area with a dash cam fitted, please check it and get in contact if you spot anything that might help us. Dash cam footage can be uploaded to https://upload.5fdams.aetopia.net?ref=CITIN1.”
