More than 20 people in Bucks make Queen's Birthday Honours List

They include a shop assistant and a swimming instructor.

More than 20 people from Buckinghamshire have made this year's Queen's Birthday Honours List.

They include a shop worker from Amersham, a swimming instructor in Wendover and a mortuary manager from Aylesbury.

This year's list was postponed from June in order to include people, such as medical workers, fundraisers and volunteers, who have been instrumental in the coronavirus effort.

It celebrates the good deeds of big names as well as ordinary people during the pandemic.

Here are the people in Bucks who have been recognised:

Order of the British Empire:

Professor Ann Sarah Walker, from Chalfont St Giles:**** Professor at the University of Oxford and University College London. For services to Academia and the COVID-19 response.

Members of the Order of the British Empire:

John Henry Hayday, from Great Missenden: Security and Business Continuity Director at BT. For services to the Telecommunications Industry during COVID-19.

Dr Dominque Nuala Lucas, from Chalfont St Giles: Consultant Anaesthetist and lead for Obstetric Anaesthesia at the London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. For services to Anaesthesia during COVID-19.

Deborah Jane Pargeter, from Milton Keynes: Headteacher at the Tithe Farm Primary. For services to Education particularly during COVID-19.
