A venue's entertainment licence has been suspended after a man was stabbed to death in Milton Keynes.

Nagiib Maxamed was attacked at Atesh restaurant and bar in Grafton Gate East in the early hours of 27 December.

Three people from Birmingham have been arrested as part of the murder investigation.

Milton Keynes Council released the following statement:

"A Sub-Committee hearing was necessary to determine an application for a Summary Review of Atesh premises licence under Section 53a of the Licensing Act 2003."

"The application permitted a very rapid means to tackle serious crime and disorder at a premises licensed for the sale of alcohol and Section 182 of the Guidance states this action should be 'reserved for the most serious matters which cannot be adequately or otherwise redressed unless urgent action is taken.'

"The Sub-Committee resolved: ‘That the premises licence be suspended with immediate effect until a full review be held.’

"The full review will need to be determined by 28 January."
