Milton Keynes post office set on fire
Thames Valley Police are investigating the cause as suspected arson
A post office in Milton Keynes was reportedly set on fire yesterday (10th June).
The incident happened on Midsummer Boulevard, and is being treated as suspected arson.
Eight fire crews attended the fire.
A Buckinghamshire Fire service spokesperson said that on arrival, the fire had not only damaged the post office, but smoke had spread to nearby stairwells and flats above.
Cordons were put in place at the scene and managed by Thames Valley Police.
A Post Office spokesperson said: “Milton Keynes Post Office is temporarily closed. We are offering support to our staff at the branch.
"It is not yet known when the branch will re-open. Alternative branches include Harrier Court, Coffee Hall, Shenley Church End, Netherfield and Bletchley.
"Police are investigating the cause of the blaze as suspected arson.
"We would urge anyone with information to contact the police or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
Two re-inspections were made by the fire service this morning (11th June).
There are no reported injuries.
