A woman has been convicted of perverting the course of justice in connection with the murder of John Davies in Milton Keynes.

Bethany Coyle, aged 29, of Lapwing Way, Barton-upon-Humber, pleaded guilty to one count of committing a series of acts with intent to pervert the course of public justice at Aylesbury Crown Court yesterday (1 July).

John Davies was 34 years-old when he was assaulted by Wesley Atick in the underpass between Groveway and Newport Road in Wavendon Gate on 23rd October 2023.

He sadly died in hospital three days later.

On 23 October 2023, Coyle disposed of Atick’s clothing and mobile phone after he committed the assault.

Coyle was arrested three days later and was charged by postal requisition on 30 May last year.

Senior investigating officer Detective Superintendent Will Crowther, Head of the Major Crime Unit, said: “Bethany Coyle committed despicable actions in hiding key evidence, namely the phone and clothing used by Wesley Atick after he fatally assaulted John Davies.

“I am pleased that Coyle has pleaded guilty, and hope that this conviction provides more answers for John’s loved ones.”

Coyle will be sentenced on Friday 12 September.
