Crime prevention roadshows to be held across Milton Keynes this winter
A key focus area will be reducing vehicle crime, which accounts for 65% of neighbourhood crime in Milton Keynes
Residents, visitors, and employees in Milton Keynes will have the chance to receive vital crime prevention advice this winter at a series of roadshows.
Organised by Milton Keynes City Council’s Community Safety Team, the events are being held in collaboration with Thames Valley Police and organisations such as Neighbourhood Watch.
Taking place at five locations across the city, the roadshows aim to raise awareness of crime prevention and ways to minimise risks.

What’s on offer?
Detective Chief Inspector James Horseman of Thames Valley Police explained that the roadshows provide an opportunity for the community to seek advice, ask questions, and sign up for crime prevention schemes such as Neighbourhood Watch and 'TV Alerts'.
Key focus areas include reducing residential burglaries, which often rise during winter due to the longer hours of darkness, and tackling vehicle crime, which accounts for 65% of neighbourhood crime in Milton Keynes.
Advice will include simple but practical steps, such as ensuring homes are well-lit and using timer switches, marking valuable items, and securing vehicles and their contents.
The events also offer advice on business-focused crime prevention programmes, such as the DISC system, which helps businesses share information about local offenders and collaborate to combat shoplifting and anti-social behaviour.
Previous engagements
The roadshows are based on the success of similar events held earlier this year, where over 1,000 people engaged with organisers.
The organisers encourage people to attend, whether to speak with local policing teams, learn more about neighbourhood schemes, or simply ask questions about concerns in their area.
Attendees will also receive giveaways like timer switches and safe boxes to support crime prevention efforts.
