Metropolitan Police officer from Stevenage remanded back into custody

A Metropolitan Police officer from Stevenage has been remanded back into custody after appearing at court.
David Carrick appeared at Westminster Magistrate's Court on Friday (26 November) via video-link from Belmarsh Prison after being charged with a further 13 offences including three counts of rape.
The case was adjourned until 3 December when he is due to appear at St Albans Crown Court for a pre-trial preparation hearing.
He was remanded back into custody.
Carrick, aged 45, has been charged with three counts of rape; three counts of sexual assault; two counts of sexual assault by penetration; two counts of coercive and controlling behaviour and one count of false imprisonment which were listed during the hearing.
He has also been charged with one count of attempted sexual assault by penetration and one count of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.
The alleged incidents took place between 1 January, 2017, and 1 July, 2020.
