Health professionals at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust are urging people who are pregnant to share their thoughts on improvements to services at Wycombe Hospital.

The facility's been chosen for certain improvements to help expectant mothers have as healthy, stress-free and enjoyable pregnancies as possible.

A survey's already been completed by the Trust, to begin work on honing in on services would be beneficial to be added to Wycombe Hospital.

Where can I attend a listening event?

The Trust's listening events are being held both virtually and in person in central Wycombe, over the course of February and March.

The current sessions are:

Tuesday 20 February 2024

10am-12pm

Virtual

Tuesday 5 March 2024

7.30-9.30pm

Virtual

The improvements to services are looking to help the Trust continue to provide support during pregnancy and in the first few weeks after having the baby.

"Antenatal classes are something that I think people will be wanting to see on that site."

Michelle East is the Trust's Director of Midwifery, and says they understand being able to get across to the Stoke Mandeville site isn't always easily accessible or possible for expectant mothers.

The survey, which has already closed, has also highlighted a number of areas which people might like to see improvements in.

"Some of the things people are asking for are additional support to feed their baby, antenatal classes.

"Antenatal classes are a really important part of your pregnancy journey, not only because they give you vital information about what to expect in pregnancy and childbirth, but also because its a good opportunity to meet some other women that are going through pregnancy as well, and you start to develop a social network."

Healthy pregnancy advice is also among the measures which have been highlighted through the survey.
