Social distancing measures will also still be in place

Anyone visiting a health service in Buckinghamshire will still be expected to wear a mask and stick to social distancing.

Bucks Healthcare say they're keeping measures in place, despite today's relaxation of the rules.

Bosses are asking us to help them keep vulnerable patients safe.

This means NHS guidance will stay in place across all health services including hospitals, GP practices, dental practices, optometrists, vaccination centres and pharmacies to ensure patients and staff are protected.

Patients, service users, visitors and staff will also be required to continue to follow social distancing rules when visiting any care setting as well as using facemasks and other personal protection equipment.

Patients attending appointments will still be required to attend alone and hospital visiting restrictions will remain in place, except in exceptional circumstances as detailed on the Trust website COVID-19 page.

Dr Raj Bajwa, Clinical Chair, NHS Buckinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group said:

"On behalf of all local NHS leaders I want to thank the public for their support throughout the pandemic.

"However, Covid is still at a higher rate in the local community than we would like and until infection rates come down we still need people to help by continuing to respect and follow our safety measures in order to keep our hospitals and healthcare facilities in Buckinghamshire safe."

Karen Bonner, Chief Nurse for Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust said:

"We care for the sickest and most vulnerable patients, and we must do everything possible to keep them safe. Even if you have had two vaccinations, you can still carry and pass on COVID-19 to others.

"We are therefore asking visitors and patients coming to our hospitals to continue to wear a facemask, follow social distancing guidance and use good hand hygiene. Please keep helping us so that we can help you and your loved ones."
