Man's nose bitten in assault at Beaconsfield Services

Officers say the offender bit a chunk out of the victim’s nose.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for information in connection with an assault at the Beaconsfield Services on the M40.

The incident of grievous bodily harm happened on the westbound services at about 4.30am on Sunday December 19.

The victim, a 20-year-old man, was with his friend outside the entrance to the services when he was attacked by a man.

During the assault, the offender bit a chunk out of the victim’s nose.

A 20-year-old man from Beaconsfield has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He has been released under investigation.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Nathan Devlin said: “I am appealing to any witnesses to please come forward.

“It is believed there was a verbal altercation between the victim and his friend and the offender inside the services prior to the assault.

“The victim sustained a horrific injury, with a chunk of his nose bitten off. He required an emergency operation and may need further reconstructive surgery.”
