Man taken to hospital after assault in Marlow

He suffered lacerations to his face and head as well as a swollen eye

A man has suffered lacerations to his face and head as well as a swollen eye after an assault in Marlow.

It happened on Saturday (13 November) at around 1am in the High Street, outside the Duke of Clarence pub.

According to Thames Valley Police, the victim, a 40 year-old man, stopped his car in the road in front of a group of males.

They started banging on the windows and bonnet of his vehicle, so the victim got out to ask them what they were doing.

One of the group then put the victim in a headlock and wrestled him to the ground.

The other three males in the group then repeatedly kicked him.

The victim had to be taken to hospital for treatment.

Three men, two aged 18 and one aged 19, have been arrested in connection with the investigation.

They have been released under investigation.

Investigating officer PC Sophie Hill, based at High Wycombe police station said:

"This assault caused the victim injuries which needed hospital treatment.

"He will also need further treatment going forward.

"I am appealing for anyone who saw this offence to come forward.
