Man stabbed in South Oxhey on Christmas Day

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested and police are seeking witnesses

A man in his 40s was stabbed on Christmas Day in South Oxhey. Police have launched an appeal for witnesses as their investigation continues.

The incident took place at around 5.10pm at the parade of shops on Little Oxhey Lane. Officers responded to reports of an altercation involving two people.

The man was later found in hospital with stab wounds. His injuries were not life-threatening, and he was discharged a few hours later.

A 17-year-old boy from South Oxhey has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and carrying a knife in a public place. He is currently on bail with strict conditions while enquiries are ongoing.

Detectives urge witnesses to come forward

Investigators are calling on anyone with information about the incident to contact them.

Sian Smith from the Three Rivers Criminal Investigation Department said:

“Our investigation is ongoing and I am asking anyone with information to please get in touch."

Smith explained that several people were reportedly in the area at the time, some of whom tried to defuse the situation.

“I appreciate the nature of this incident is concerning, but I would urge people not to speculate on social media. If you have information, please share it with us,” Smith added.
