Man seriously assaulted in Watford road rage incident

The incident has left the victim's shoulder fractured after a case of road-rage

A man was seriously assaulted in Watford on Sunday afternoon after a case of road rage.

The incident left him with a fractured shoulder, cuts and bruises after being punched to the ground next to the skate park on Beechen Grove.

The suspect assaulted the victim after exiting a car driven by a woman once the victim had got out of his pick-up truck.

The man who was injured is back at home now, but went to hospital to receive treatment initially.

Hertfordshire Constabulary is now investigating the incident to find out what took place and why.

The assault took place at around 4:40pm on 15th August, and Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward who were present at the scene or know anything about the incident.

The suspect has been described to have been wearing a red shirt and was foreign in appearance. Both vehicles a reported to be silver in colour.

Detective Sergeant Helen Dickson, from the Watford Local Crime Unit, said:

“This assault happened on one of the busiest routes in Watford and there would have been a lot of people in the area at the time.

“We are very keen to identify and speak to the witnesses we believe saw this incident, as we think they will have vital information that could assist our investigation.

“Lastly, if you were driving on Beechen Grove at the time of the incident, and have a working dash cam fitted to your vehicle, please check it and contact us if you believe you have captured anything of note.”
