A man from Hertford has been jailed for over 10 years for serious sexual offences.

After a three week trial at St Albans Crown Court, 27-year-old Luke Plant was jailed on November 29th.

He was sentenced to 9 years in prison for one count of rape, one count of digital penetration, and two counts of sexual assault.

A further two years on extended license was given to Plant, of Westfield Road, after being considered "a dangerous offender".

He has to serve two thirds of his sentence before being considered for parole.

Plant's offences related to three victims and crimes between March 2015, and January 2020.

He was found not guilty of one count of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent, as well as one count of assault by penetration and one count of attempted sexual assault, concerning a fourth victim.

Judge Ian Stern KC called Plant a predator during the trial, with Detectives commending the brave victims for coming forward.
