Ashley Blake has been jailed for nearly two years
After sixty rounds of live ammunition was found in a wardrobe in Aylesbury, a man has been jailed.
Ashley Blake had run from police, who were trying to search him, and then they found the rounds in his home on Arundel Green.
The 38-year-old pleaded guilty to possessing ammunition without a firearm certificate/authority and got one year, 10 months inside.
What happened?
At approximately 7pm on 14 September 2020, Blake ran from officers who had tried to detain him for a search.
He was quickly caught and a search of his home address revealed 60 rounds of ammunition hidden in his wardrobe.
Subsequent testing showed that the ammunition was live and viable, an offence under the Firearms Act (1968).
He was charged with the offence on 15 September 2020.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Andy Hipwell of the Stronghold team based at Aylesbury police station, said:
“Blake is a dangerous criminal who had in his possession 60 rounds of live ammunition.
“It cannot be underestimated the damage this could have caused.
“The Stronghold team focuses on serious organised crime and focuses their attention on those who seek to cause the most harm in our communities.
“We will never tire to bring those to justice who seek to place other people in fear, and Blake will now serve a custodial sentence as a result of his criminal activity.”
