Man in hospital after firearms incident in Luton
The man in his 30's has serious injuries but they are not thought to be life threatening
Police are appealing for information after a man in his 30s was seriously injured in a shooting on Abbotswood Road, Luton.
The incident occurred shortly after 1am on Thursday, when officers were called to reports of a firearms discharge. The victim was taken to hospital, where he remains, though his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A 35-year-old man has been arrested as part of the ongoing investigation. Detective Inspector Scott Fowler from the Boson guns and gangs unit said: "We know incidents involving firearms raise a lot of concern amongst local residents, however we would like to reassure the community that this is believed to be an isolated incident with no risk to the wider public."
Detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward. "We know that the community is the best source of information and intelligence, that is why we are appealing to the public to report what they know," added DI Fowler.
