Police are appealing for witnesses after a 48-year-old man died following an assault during a charity event at Hemel Hempstead Town Football Club.

Jack Oliver Frogell, known to friends and family as Olly, was injured during an altercation in the early hours of Saturday 25th October.

Olly, who lived in Hemel Hempstead, was taken to hospital following the assault.

He died on Tuesday, 4th November, prompting police to renew their appeal for information.

In a tribute, Olly’s wife Lisa said: “Our beloved Olly loved by so many, he was truly the most wonderful Dad and loving husband but also the heart of our community. This has left us with a huge void in our lives that can never be filled.”

Detective Inspector Caeva Taylor of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit said officers are continuing their investigation into the incident.

“Our thoughts are with Olly’s family at this very difficult time,” DI Taylor said.

“We are urging any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police to please come forward and help. We want to find out exactly what happened in the lead up to the assault."

DI Taylor also addressed the circulation of footage of the incident, asking the public not to share it further, as this could jeopardise any future criminal proceedings.
