A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Milton Keynes.

Thames Valley Police said 44-year-old Andrew Georgiou, of Holywell Place, has been charged with one count of murder. He is due to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court today, Tuesday 1 July.

The charge relates to the death of 42-year-old Carol Georgiou, who died on Saturday 2 November 2024 after an incident at a property in Holywell Place.

Police confirmed on 4 November last year that a murder investigation had been launched by the force’s Major Crime Unit.

A Home Office post-mortem was carried out, but further forensic tests were needed to establish the cause of death.

Detective Chief Inspector Mike Roddy said at the time: “We are continuing our investigation into this tragic incident, and Carol’s family are being supported by specially trained officers.”

In a statement issued by Thames Valley Police on 19 November, Carol Georgiou’s family said: “On November 2nd 2024, we tragically lost our beloved Carol Georgiou; a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, and mother. Her passing has left a deep void in our family, and we are struggling to imagine life without her.”

Police say specially trained officers continue to support Carol’s family.
