Man charged with GBH following serious assault in Ware

A man in their forties is being treated in hospital for stab wounds

A man has been arrested and charged following a serious assault in Ware at the weekend.

Police were called at around 11.15pm on Saturday (10 June) to reports of a man having been stabbed inside a residential property on Wheatsheaf Drive.

Officers and the East of England Ambulance Service attended. The injured man, aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but they were not life threatening or life changing. He remains in hospital at this time.

Those involved are believed to be known to each other.

Paolo Silvacorreia, aged 30, of no fixed abode, was arrested in Wulfrath Way, Ware in the early hours of Sunday (11 June) and was subsequently charged with Section 18 GBH wounding with intent, possession of an offensive weapon and theft of a motor vehicle.

He appeared at Stevenage Magistrates Court yesterday (Tuesday 13 June) and was remanded into custody. He is next due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday 11 July.
