Man charged with attempted murder after Stevenage pub fight
Police say a gun was involved
A second man has been charged in connection with an incident at a pub in Stevenage on New Year’s Eve.
Liam Campbell, aged 25, from Rockingham Way, Stevenage, has been charged with attempted murder, assault ABH, affray, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of a firearm in a public place.
He has been remanded into custody to appear before St Albans Crown Court on Monday 20 February.
Police were called at around 11.20pm on Saturday 31 December following an altercation at Our Mutual Friend public house in Broadwater Crescent.
It was reported that the altercation then continued outside and a firearm was involved. No one was injured and no damage was caused.
Earlier this week, Charlie Kettle, aged 24, from Pembridge Gardens, Stevenage, was also charged in connection with the incident, with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
He appeared before Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (17 January) where he was remanded into custody ahead of his next appearance at St Albans Crown Court on Monday 20 February.
Three other people from Stevenage, who were arrested on the night, remain on police bail while enquiries continue. They are:
- A 26 year old man, who was arrested on suspicion of affray
- A 22 year old woman, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender
- A 44 year old man, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender
