A man in his 40s will appear in Luton Magistrate court today (Wednesday) after he was found in possession of 25 kilos of Class A drugs, worth a potential street value of £2.5 million.

Officers initially stopped a vehicle on Bedford Road due to recent intelligence reports and carried out a search when the drugs were discovered and an offensive weapon was also found.

A spokesperson said: "Drugs and violence ultimately go hand in hand – we need your help to combat organised crime".

"If you see something suspicious, whether this is suspected drug dealing, an unusual increase in people visiting or potential money laundering, let us know.

This information is fed into police intelligence systems and helps officers build up a picture of organised crime"
