Man arrested after allegedly throwing an egg at King Charles in Luton
The King was in Luton visiting the Town Hall, Sikh temple, and DART
A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of common assault after an egg was allegedly thrown in the direction of King Charles during a walkabout in Luton today.
Bedfordshire Police said the suspect was in custody for questioning after being arrested in St George's Square.
This incident comes just weeks after 23-year-old Patrick Thelwell was arrested for throwing eggs at the King and Queen Consort during a visit to York.
Thelwell threw four eggs in the direction of the King and Queen Consort, all of which missed.
Despite the slight interruption, the King appeared to be in good spirits during his trip to Luton, where he met members of the community at the Town Hall, Guru Nank Gurdwara, and DART.
The visit was His Majesty's first time to Bedfordshire since becoming the monarch.
