A man has admitted trying to kill his partner after a stabbing outside a primary school in Luton.

Barze Faesal, 30, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to attempted murder, making threats to kill and stalking at Luton Crown Court on Friday.

On 21 May this year, Barze Faesal Sadq was arrested after he stabbed a woman near a school in Dunstable Road, Luton, leaving her with serious injuries.

Following his arrest, it was disclosed that during the relationship, Faesal Sadq was described as coercive and controlling which led the victim to live in fear.

When the victim made several attempts to flee the relationship, Faesal Sadq relentlessly pursued her, tracking her down and making threats on her life.

He will be sentenced on Wednesday 13 November, at the same court.

Detective Inspector Jon Wheeler, investigating, said: "This was a terrifying attack on a woman who was targeted by a man who refused to believe the relationship was over.

“The victim lived in fear during their relationship, and even when she tried to leave, that fear followed her as Faesal Sadq continued his pattern of behaviour.

“No woman deserves to feel unsafe, and scared for their life. We understand how difficult it is for victims of domestic abuse to come forward, and we understand that is not always a plain sailing journey, but we are here to help.
