Thames Valley Police are working with Bucks Fire and Rescue to resolve flooding on a busy Aylesbury road.

A burst water main has caused major flooding on Wendover Road shortly after the Marroway roundabout.

Drivers are being advised to avoid the area where possible and plan an alternative route until the issue is resolved.

Buckinghamshire Council have provided this update:

We are aware of a significant water mains burst this morning in the Stoke Mandeville/Wendover Rd area, which has unfortunately caused flooding at a small number of properties.

The issue has also caused some traffic problems in the area close to Marroway Roundabout on the A413 and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Thames Water, Thames Valley Police and Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue services have all been in attendance and are working hard to fix the issue, provide support and to provide aid to residents affected by flooding.

A few homes and venues in the area are without water and bottled water is being supplied to those affected. Some properties are experiencing low water pressure which is expected to resolve shortly if it hasn’t already.

We will continue to update as this situation develops.
