Campaign group Insulate Britain have returned to the M25 in Hertfordshire this morning, blocking traffic and causing delays to drivers.

Members are staging what appears to be a sit down protest across Junction 23, near South Mimms.

It follows Monday mornings action where several exits around the M25 were closed due to their protest.

Hertfordshire Police have confirmed they are on site and are advising drivers to avoid the area if possible.

Speaking to Greatest Hits, Theo from the group said they are sorry for the disruption but action needs to be taken:

"I understand how difficult it is but we have to make an action which is on a scale that demands the government respond.

"We also have respect for the police officers doing the job they have to do, but we are saying we are going to keep coming back using that civil disobedience tactic.

"That's the only way we can see of pressuring the government of getting on with what should be the number one priority; getting ride of emissions and poverty.

"We are saying we need to insulate all the housing stock in Britain, which will help to eliminate fuel poverty especially in a time of rising bills.

"We will create thousands of jobs across the economy and we will be on target, finally, for cutting the emissions we have to cut."
