Luton Town has been relegated from the Premier League.
They've lost 4-2 to Fulham.
But the drop was all but confirmed following their 3-1 defeat at West Ham last Saturday.
That result left them three points behind Nottingham Forest with a significant goal difference deficit, confirming their immediate return to the Sky Bet Championship.
Luton manager Rob Edwards expressed his desire to finish the season positively despite the relegation.
He stated, "We'll pick a team best suited to win the game. We want to end the season on a high, we want to reward the fans for their unbelievable support with a win and three points."
Throughout the season, Luton struggled, securing only six wins out of 37 matches.
The team faced additional challenges against Fulham with key players Ross Barkley and Reece Burke unavailable.
Despite these setbacks, Edwards emphasized the importance of a strong finish: "The bottom line is, we want to give a good account of ourselves and reward the fans for the support they've given us over the past 37 games."
The main story of their season was undoubtedly the collapse of club captain Tom Lockyer in December.
Bournemouth's home fixture with Luton on December 16 bonded the clubs for life after Hatters captain Lockyer collapsed in the 59th minute.
The Vitality Stadium clash was eventually abandoned, but the most crucial aspect of the day was Lockyer's life being saved after it was revealed he suffered a cardiac arrest.
Days later he had an ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) successfully fitted. The Premier League decided the fixture had to be replayed and when it was on March 13, Lockyer returned to the ground to thank the medical staff before he watched Luton let a three-goal lead slip to lose 4-3.
The club have ended the season on 26 points.
