Luton taxi driver assaulted

Police are appealing for witnesses after a taxi driver sustained serious injuries and required hospital treatment.

It happened between 12.30pm and 1.10pm when a taxi dropped off a man in Denham Close.

The man then asked to be taken to another location, but when the driver refused the offender assaulted the driver.

The offender is described as approximately 18-years-old and mixed-raced. At the time of the offence he was wearing blue denim jeans and a navy-blue t-shirt.

He was travelling from Welwyn Garden City.

Detective Constable Kimberly Anderson, who is investigating the assault, said:

“We are keen to speak to anyone who might have witnessed this incident. Violence of any kind won’t be tolerated and we encourage anyone with information to come forward.”
