A man who hid in an AirBnb in Aylesbury after fatally stabbing another man in Luton has been sentenced to life in prison.

Yasar Hussain, 27, was found guilty of murdering David Dosa at a flat in Farley Court, Luton, on 15 August last year. He must serve a minimum of 21 years.

The court heard that Hussain travelled to the flat that afternoon, where CCTV captured him speaking with David outside. Hussain then followed him into the building and stabbed him. He was seen on camera fleeing the scene moments later.

Emergency services were called, but David was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hussain, of Cades Close, Luton, tried to avoid arrest by wiping his mobile phone and destroying his sim card. He later travelled to Aylesbury and booked into a short-term rental property, where officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit arrested him.

At Luton Crown Court on Friday, Mr Justice Kay said Hussain’s actions were “a desperate attempt to raise doubt on your involvement.”

Detective Chief Inspector Nick Gardner, from the Major Crime Unit, said: “Today, our thoughts are with David Dosa’s family who have conducted themselves with great fortitude and courage for the duration of this investigation and trial.

“There is no certainty as to why Yasar Hussain had a disagreement with David, which led to his loss of life and Hussain now facing a minimum of 21 years behind bars.

“I would like to thank the hard work and efforts of our officers, who arrested Hussain a short time following the initial incident, despite him trying to evade capture.

“Murder is the most profound violation of human life, and those who commit such an irreversible act must face the full force of the law. There is no justification, no excuse, and no hiding place for individuals who bring fear and violence into our communities.”
