Local Elections 2024: Results across Bucks Beds and Herts

Results from the PCC's across the three counties are also going to be announced over the coming days

As counting begins across councils across England, areas of Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire are preparing for announcements from their local authorities,

All three counties are also waiting for the results of Police and Crime Commissioners.

Buckinghamshire

In Broxbourne, Conservatives have won all but one seat up for grabs in the Hertfordshire stronghold.

The Borough Council's been under Conservative control for 50 years, and due to their majority it meant it was impossible for them to lose it.

Labour did see a rise in its share of the vote.

Labour have also taken control of Milton Keynes.

No party has held overall control there after the last four sets of local elections.

But Sir Kier Starmer's party gained 4 seats, while the Lib Dems gained 3.

The conservatives lost 7.

Hertfordshire

Watford has been held by the Liberal Democrat party.

Labour have lost 2 councillors

In Stevenage Labour extended their control with 32 Councillors, Lib Dems have 6 and Conservatives now only have 1.

There's no overall control ofWelwyn Hatfieldfor any party.

Labour have gained 4 seats, while the conservatives have lost 2.

The Lib Dem's have held Three Rivers, despite losing one seat to the Green Party.

In North Hertfordshire, no party holds overall control, after the Tories lost 10 seats.

Labour gained 6, while the Lib Dems gained 4.

The Lib Dems have held overall control of St Albans, despite losing 2 seats.

The Conservatives lost 1 too, while Labour gained 2 and the Green party gained 1..

Bedfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner

Labour's John Tizard has won the Police and Crime Commissioner election for Bedfordshire.

The four candidates to be Bedfordshire’s PCC, including John Tizard (Labour) were Waheed Akbar (Workers Party), Festus Akinbusoye (Conservative), Jas Parmar (Lib Dems).

Outgoing PCC Festus Akinusoye has held the role since 2021.

While a conservative has been in the role since 2016.

Mr Tizard won by a majority of Mr Tizard won by a majority of 40,738 votes.
