A speed hill climb event which began in 1910 is taking place in Buckinghamshire this weekend.

The Kop Hill Climb gets underway today, above the town of Princes Risborough, one one of the steepest hills which winds into the wooded valley below.

This morning the Paddock opens with spectators swarming the area ahead of the Hill Climb beginning with the first of the cars heading up the hill.

Events throughout the day include students from Princes Risborough School taking on the hill, Soapbox runs and performances over the course of the weekend.

Veteran and Edwardian cars are among those who take on the climb, with other bikes and vehicles including Mustangs, Alfa Romeo's and Cobra's all turning up for the event.

David Cox has been a commentator at the Climb for the past eight years. He said: "Every single penny from any money earnt, goes to local charities. We have now over the years since we restarted, raised clear for charity £1,085,000."

Stall holders and funfairs are also included at the Buckinghamshire event which attracts motor enthusiasts from across country.

David told Greatest Hits Radio vehicles travel just as far.

"The cars that we get, we get some rare ones, and they come from all over the country. And it's down to the fact that it's such a good event that they turn up."

The Kop Hill Climb is taking place in Princes Risborough today and tomorrow.
