Man charged in Kempston murder investigation

Specialist liaison officers are continuing to provide support to the victim's family.

A man has been charged with murder after a man was found dead at his home in Kemptson.

Ferhan Khan, 38, of Cantley Road in Great Denham, has been charged with murder and a racially aggravated public order offence and will appear at Luton Crown Court in due course.

Bedfordshire Police launched a murder investigation after 57-year-old Michael Havil, known locally by many as Micky, was found dead at his home in Massey Close.

It is reported that the day prior to his death, Mr Havil was assaulted outside a convenience shop in Bedford Road, Kempston, on the evening of Friday, 13 May.

Specialist liaison officers are continuing to provide support to his family.
